Obituary for Dorsey C. Bradshaw, Sr.
Dorsey Cornell Bradshaw, Sr. lovingly referred to as “Cornell” gained his heavenly wings as he entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 4th at Heartland Health Care Hospice Center in Lynchburg, VA. Cornell was born on September 17, 1930 to the late Earl and Mamie Bradshaw.
He was a member of Eleven Oaks Baptist Church where he served in the Deacon ministry and was a member of the Mass Choir. Cornell loved singing praises to the highest and organized the Voices of Praise Gospel Group. He was also the proud founding owner of Bradshaw’s Painting Company which serviced Crewe, VA and surrounding counties for over 45 years.
Cornell resided at Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home for the past three years and recently was moved to Heartland Health Care Hospice Center.
Cornell was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pauline S. Bradshaw and his son, Dorsey C. Bradshaw, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Stephanie Bradshaw Luck (Bedford, Jr.) of Lynchburg, VA; two sisters, Lula B. Lewis (Griffen) of Randallstown, MD and Minister Mary B. Hughes of Blackstone, VA; one brother Wilbur Oliver of Hopewell, VA; one sister-in-law, Laura Sanford of Kenbridge, VA; one daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Bradshaw of Forest, VA; four granddaughters, Aisha L. Bradshaw of Lynchburg, VA, Detric L. Sinclair (Darrick) of Waldorf, MD, Venita Bradshaw Dixon (Kenneth) of Mebane, NC, Tinnelle T. Luck of Brandywine, MD; nine great-grandchildren, Darrius J. Bradshaw and Pariss D. Goode of Lynchburg, VA, Nyria Dorey, Kengston B. Dixon, Kennacy B. Dixon and Kenzi B. Dixon of Mebane, NC, Amaya E. Sinclair, Micah J. Sinclair and Amani N. Sinclair of Waldorf, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Public viewing Friday, December 10th from 1 to 7PM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11th at 12 noon at Eleven Oaks Baptist Church 200 East Virginia Street, Crewe, VA with Pastor Marvin Gilliam presiding. Interment Allen-Williams Cemetery, Crewe.
