Obituary for Dorothy R. Anderson
Dorothy R. Anderson was born on January 5, 1940 in Hazlehurst, Mississippi to the late Mrs. Helen Wright and Mr. Willie Robinson, Jr. At a very young age, she and her parents relocated to Westfield, New Jersey. Dorothy was the eldest of five children. She attended Westfield Public Schools and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1959. Growing up, "Dot" enjoyed sewing, and she loved to sing and dance.

On July 3, 1959, in Westfield, New Jersey, she married the love of her life, Clinton Wesley Anderson, Jr. To this union were born one daughter, Kathy, and one son, Clinton, whom they lovingly raised in Plainfield, New Jersey. Dorothy was a very devoted mother and wife. As her children became older, she entered the workforce as a private duty nurse. She also worked in the garment district union.

“Love," as she was affectionately called by many, was a great, great, great cook and baker and loved to show off her skills by entertaining family and friends! She also loved to play golf and travel.

In 1998, she and her husband relocated to Jetersville, Virginia, where she resided until she gained her heavenly crown on November 7, 2019 at St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Virginia. Dorothy joins in heaven her husband: Clinton W. Anderson, Jr.; mother: Helen Wright; father: Willie Robinson, Jr.; and brothers: Russell and Edward G Robinson.

She leaves to treasure her loving memory, a daughter: Kathy Carnegie (Richel); a son: Clinton Anderson (Pilar); two granddaughters: Tahirah Harrison (Rahdee) and Maliah Anderson; six grandsons: Taariq Carnegie (Taylor), Jabir Carnegie (Sharmayne), Isa Carnegie (Melissa), Raafiq Carnegie (Ariane), Rafael   Carnegie (Dawnne) and Jamar Anderson; five great-grandchildren: Ayden Carnegie, Kyair Harrison, Samir Harrison, Londyn Harrison and Ryleigh Carnegie; sisters: Debra Mackson (Lamar) and Linda Wright; sisters-in-law: Mary Hunt, Susie Robinson, Rita Royall (Ervin) and Lucy Sparks (James); as well as a host of family and friends.
