Obituary for Dorothy L. Robinson
On the late evening of Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Midlothian, VA, our loved one Dorothy Lee Robinson took her wings and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Dorothy was born on February 22, 1931 to Leon and Lucille Archer Robinson in Amelia, VA.
She confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Dorothy was educated at Chula School in Amelia, VA. She later joined Promise Land Baptist Church and was a Deaconess.
Dorothy’s hobbies were getting her hair and nails done, going to Wal-Mart and playing bingo. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars.
Dorothy married Deacon Roosevelt Robinson in 1947 and this union was blessed with seven children.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Lucille Archer Robinson; her husband, Roosevelt Robinson; two daughters, Dorothy Estelle and Connie of NJ; one son, Walter Robinson of Amelia, VA; two sisters, Mary Tyler and Rachel Hyde; three brothers, Leon Robinson Jr., Richard Robinson both of Amelia, VA and Henry Archer of NJ.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters, Remy (Mike) Corbett of Amelia and Cinderella Robinson of NJ; two sons, Roosevelt (Patricia) Robinson of NJ and Richard (Ruthie) Robinson of Chesterfield, VA; great, great grandchild, Ameerah holds a very special place in great, great grandma and grandpa heart, she was born on their anniversary; twenty-two grandchildren; seventy-six great grandchildren; twenty-four great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services Friday, July 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Promise Land Baptist Church, 11114 Winterham Rd., Amelia, VA. Interment church cemetery.
