Obituary for Dorothy I. Johnson
DOROTHY IRBY JOHNSON, daughter of the late Harry and Emma Irby was born on December 28, 1918 in Lunenburg County, Virginia. She departed this life on Monday, February 21, 2011.
She attended the Lunenburg County public school. Dorothy joined Shiloh Baptist Church and became a dedicated member of the Usher Board. She served on the Usher Board until her health started to decline.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters; her husband Waverly; and her daughter Cora.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory: a loving son, William “Jimmy” Irby; a daughter-in-law, Mary Irby; five grandchildren, Michael, Dion, Corey, Angie and Christopher; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Hyman) Forte and Emma Bland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
