Doris D. Jackson departed this life on October 10, 2020 at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, VA. Daughter of the late John and Martha Lee Green, she was born on July 28, 1957 in Prince Edward County, VA.
Doris was baptized at an early age. She attended school in Nottoway County, VA.
She worked at Mitchell’s Restaurant for twenty years as a cook and at Western’s Restaurant for fifteen years. She loved to cook, enjoyed working and transporting people back and forth to work. She showed love to her family and everyone else. Doris enjoyed celebrating and having festivities, dancing and having fun. She loved collecting Wood Knox/figurines.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Jackson; one son, Leroy Andrew Jackson of Crewe, VA; three daughters, Laura German (Chris) of Richmond, VA, Gladys Jackson of Crewe, VA and Shamaka Jackson of Crewe, VA; four grandchildren, Alexus, Darius, Desaree and Marquis; one brother, Charles Green of Baltimore, MD; four sisters, Florence Fuller, Flossie Montgomery, Clara Casper and Phyllis Parrish; sisters-in-law, Anne Jennings, Lois Coleman and Mary Green; brothers-in-law, Herman Jackson, Leroy Parrish and Sylvester Jackson.
Viewing Friday, October 16, 2020 from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
Graveside Services Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1p.m. at Fowlkes Family Cemetery, Crewe.
