Obituary for Donald Nelson Robinson
Donald Nelson Robinson departed this life on January 17, 2023. He was born on February 7, 1961 in Amelia, VA, to the late Franklin (deceased) and Rosa Robinson. Donald was the oldest sibling born of this union. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Little Union Baptist Church. In his adult years, Donald had so much joy in assisting church attendees in directing where to park on the church grounds.
Leaving to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted mother, Rosa Mae Robinson of Amelia, VA, two daughters, Vauna Robinson of Richmond, VA and Brittney Vaughan of Richmond, VA; sister, Landa Jackson (Theodore) and niece, Tanika Jackson, all of Richmond, VA.
Also leaving behind devoted aunts, Lillian Barley (Morven) of Powhatan, VA, Darlene Hodges (Willie) of Riverdale, MD and Mother Vera Gibson of Amelia, VA, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends; one devoted friend, Arthur Crump (Phyllis) who affectionately called Donald “Buck” and eagerly answered Donald’s “becking call” along with sharing lots of fun times together.
Donald was a friend and a handyman to many in the neighborhood.
He enjoyed cooking and eating “sweet treats” from his two Betty Crocker ladies, Maude Allen and Sunshine Bolding.
Donald was easy going, the life of a party and enjoyed having fun and laughter. He had an infectious smile that will last in the hearts of many. He will be truly missed.
Public Viewing: Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, Amelia, Va.
Graveside: Monday, January 23, 2023, at 12noon at Little Union Baptist Church, Amelia, Va.
