Obituary for Desiree W. Christopher
Desiree’ Woodley Christopher was born in Petersburg, Virginia on May 25, 1985, to Mrs. Rosa Woodley and Mr. James Woodley. On April 12, 2022, Desiree’ entered into her eternal rest with her family by her side.

Desiree’ was baptized and accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age. She was a devoted daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and true servant of the Lord. To know Desiree’ is to have laughed with or to have shared a kind word, whether a close friend or stranger. Being humbly social was a special gift upon which she was bestowed; those around her were drawn to her infectious and ebullient personality. Selflessness and generosity were two traits that highlighted her personality. Desiree’ touched the lives of so many people in such a short amount of time; she was able to accomplish much before her untimely demise.

She graduated from Nottoway High School and attended Longwood College. She participated in various activities in school with recognitions (School Band, Color Guard, Winter Guard, and Soccer). She traveled to Paris, London, New York, and other states within the United States to perform with the guard and band.

In her career working at the Heritage House in Stafford, VA and Hope Tree in Fredericksburg, VA and Richmond, VA, she had a heart of passion for working with special needs individuals where she touched their lives with joy also. In support of special needs individuals, she participated in the annual Polar Plunge Special Olympic Program with her current employer Geico. She furthered her career working at Geico Insurance Company as a Claims Adjustor in Virginia Beach, VA where she received various recognitions, one being the recipient of the Chairman’s Award for outstanding customer service.

Her enjoyable essence also landed her an opportunity to take a selfie and meet a famous actor. (Lamman Rucker who played on daytime soap operas, Greenleaf, and Tyler Perry’s films)

Desiree’ leaves to cherish her memories her husband Brian Christopher, stepdaughter Michelle McVey, parents James and Rosa Woodley, sister Latoya Finnie (Kerry), aunts Virginia Lewis (Leo), Bernice Cook (Melvin), Pearl Friend (Alfred), Deborah Davis (Jesse) and Beatrice Head (Sterling), uncles Roy Lewis (Brenda), Roger Lewis, cousins Monique Royster (Donald), William Royster (Linda), Amadis Lusk, Jessica Wilkins (Antwan), William Lewis (David), Cory Lewis, LaRoyce Lewis (Lauren), Jazmine Lewis, and Marc Friend. Special cousins Cameron, Camora, Caleb, Cayden, Khloe, Kash, Savannah, Kingston, Austin, Landon and Logan. Special friends Shannon Riddick, best friend and Mike Hines, her barber.
