Obituary for Dennis N. Hobbs
Dennis Nathan Hobbs was born September 22, 1973 in Washington, DC, the youngest of two children born to Linda Cousin Hobbs and Dennis S. Hobbs. He entered eternal rest on Friday, April 19, 2019 in Richmond, VA.

Dennis attended Matthew Henson Elementary School in Landover, MD where they lived until his family moved to Richmond, VA. He graduated from Huguenot High School in 1991 and immediately went to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He attained the rank of Spec 4-Communications Specialist while stationed in Germany.

Dennis or “Nate” as he was affectionately called, became a father to his daughter Dennisia Brinson. He moved to Richmond with his new family where he worked to support them as a Restauranteur.

He later met and married the former Felicia “Lisa” Brooks of Crewe, VA becoming a stepfather to a son, Rashad Brooks. His wife Lisa predeceased him, succumbing to a sudden illness.

Dennis loved being in the country where he enjoyed his grandparents, James and Katie Hobbs of Blackstone and John and Essie Cousin of Crewe. The Cousin’s operated Cherry Tree Rest Home in Crewe, where Dennis learned business operation and healthcare. He also worked as a Medical Transport Driver.

He attended First Nottoway Baptist Church and Dominion Worship Center in Crewe where he was an avid learner and student of the Holy Bible. He learned to love God’s word.

He moved back to Richmond when he became father to a second daughter, Di’Miyah Hobbs in 2013. He loved his children and they loved him.

Dennis leaves to mourn, a devoted and loving mother, Linda L. Hobbs; a devoted sister, La’Trina McCutchen (Ricky); two daughters, Dennisia Brinson and Di’Miyah Hobbs; a new grandson he never got to meet, Naz Ali Lavon Brinson; loving uncles, Darryl Cousin (Sandra), Anthony Cason, James Hayes, Albert Giles (Antonette), Ricardo Cousin, Aubrey Cousin (Andrienette), Edward Cousin (Kathy), John Cousin, Dexter Williams, Orbin Woodley, Anthony Rose (Linell) and James Hobbs; devoted and loving aunts, Sarah Jennings, Darlene Ward, Holly Giles, Carolyn Farrar, Veronica Hobbs Henson; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends on whose lives he made a profound impact.

Dennis is loved and will be greatly missed. He was a great friend who loved to laugh, eat and “ride the road”. We want to say “Thank You” Dennis and “We Love You”. May God bless you and grant you your new home in Heaven.

Funeral Service Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment private.
