Dennis Lionel Overby, age, 66, formerly of Blackstone, Virginia passed away on September 24, 2024 to be with the Lord at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born October 22, 1957 to the late Charles, Sr. and Lucinda Overby.
He was in Nottoway County, where he attended school for a short period of time. He lived life to the fullest which he loved music, dancing, riding bikes, and watching wrestling.
He worked for Supported Employment for Crossroads for many years until his health failed. He was on the Lawn Care Crew. He was the first one to get his lawn mower every morning and the last one to put it on the trailer each day to cut grass. He enjoyed getting his paychecks and going out to the bank to cash his checks.
Everywhere he went he had a way of making his presence known and always would smile everywhere he went. Every party he had he loved to dress up, sing and dance. He was usually the last one on the dance floor. Dennis will truly be missed!
Dennis was proceeded in death by his mother Lucinda P. Overby, his father Charles F. Overby, Sr. and his sister Frances D. Yates. He is survived by his sisters Beverly White “BB” and Michelle Overby and his brother Charles Overby, Jr. (Sheila). He had a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. One devoted niece, Dasha Jennings. He also had two special men that he cared a lot for in his life, Wallace White and Joseph Yates. He loved the staff and residents at Crossroads.
