Early on Sunday morning November 24, 2024 Deena Deshawna Wells being an obedient beloved daughter answered the call from our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ for her eternal rest. She was the first child born to Larry Glenn and Connie Glenn on June 9, 1982. She attended elementary and high school in the Nottoway County School system where she graduated with High Honors from Nottoway High School.
She started serving others at an early age volunteering at Heritage Hall Nursing Facility. She attended Southside Community College in Alberta, Virginia where she pursued a career in Pharmacology as a Pharmacy Technician. Deena started her professional career at AH Robins Pharmaceuticals in Richmond, VA where she worked for 5 years, she then obtained a permanent position for the State of Virginia at Piedmont Geriatric Center in Crewe, Virginia for the past 20 years.
She joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age. Deena later joined Union Baptist Church with her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially those game nights and holiday gatherings. She enjoyed taking care of her family, that famous broccoli casserole was an excellent dish. Her kindness, compassion, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Deena met the love of her life, and married Evwan Wells, September 7, 2013, they were blessed with two children, a beautiful daughter Amarea Wells who attends the HBCU Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, an athletic son Je’khi Wells, and devoted Goddaughter Allana Bradshaw.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, niece and friend, her kindness and love touched everyone who knew her. She had a warm smile and a gentle spirit that radiated love and compassion. As Evwan say’s the best wife a man could have.
Deena was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather (Charles Elder); Paternal Grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Johnnie and Lillian Glenn; brother Larry Jones; and two uncles Johnnie Glenn Jr. and James Glenn Sr.
In addition to her husband and children Deena is survived by her mother Connie Glenn and her father Larry Glenn; god daughters Kori Rogers and Mi’asia Johnson; siblings Kevin Mckenzie of Petersburg, VA, Brandon Glenn (April) of Farmville, VA, Dashell Jones, Kayla Glenn of Blackstone, VA; maternal grandmother Corine Miller (Howard) of Blackstone, VA; Mother and father-in-law (Mr. & Mrs. Garland and Jackie Wells); brother-in-Law Derrick Wells (Rhondra); nine aunts Charlena White, Marcella (Elaine) White, Sandra Elder-Robertson (Anthony), Sharon Elder, Rosa Woodley, Sarah Glenn, Vernell Ross and Gloria Glenn; two uncles Benjamin Glenn (Mary) and William Glenn (Eve); four nieces Azaya Glenn, Lakelynn Cabbins, Shaniqua Wells and Diamond Wells; four nephew Zephren Cabbins, Kwamaine Wells, Jamal Wells and Dallas Wells; three devoted cousins who were more like sisters Precious Morris, Alaine Booker and Ebony Page.
