Obituary for Deacon Willie L. Scott
DEACON WILLIE LEE SCOTT was born July 4, 1930, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Willie Lee and Lunette Scott, Sr. He departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Monday, November 1, 2010, at Heritage Hall - Blackstone, Virginia.
He was educated in the public schools of Nottoway County. He was a faithful and devoted member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone, Virginia. He serves as a member of the Deacon Ministry, Church School Ministry, Community Chorus, Senior Choir and served as Church Treasurer.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Corlene Parker Scott; daughter Dorothy Marie Scott and one sister.
Deacon Scott leaves to cherish his fond and loving memory: two daughters, Evelyn A. Parker and Jacqueline F. Scott, both of Baltimore, Maryland; two sons, Rodney L. (Anna) Scott of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Thomas E. (Cheryl) Scott of Columbia, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Javorris, Thomas E.C. (Tee), Malissa, Trinity, Cohen and Christrianny; five great grandchildren; one brother, Earl F. Scott of Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Parker of Baltimore, Maryland and Branch Parker of Blackstone, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Moses and Lucille Parker of Baltimore, Maryland and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will visit with friends at the funeral home Friday, November 5, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Funeral Services Saturday, November 6, 2010Â at 12:00 noon at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
