Obituary for Deacon Fred L. Henderson
Deacon Fred L. Henderson, Sr., son of the late Willie and Rosa Henderson, was born in Moseley, Virginia on February 17, 1930.
Fred joined Second Antioch Baptist Church at an early age and served as a faithful Deacon for many years.
Fred worked for W.E. Horner at the saw mill in Powhatan, Virginia and later Watkin’s Nursery until his retirement.

Deacon Fred L. Henderson departed this life on August 15, 2015.  he was preceded in death by his siblings James, Charles, Ernest, Clarence and son Maverick.
He married Jenny Mable Mitchell on August 18, 1951 and from this union seven children were born.  He later Married Lula Green, who also preceded him in death.
Fred leaves to cherish his memory:  six children, Delois, Joyce Morgan, Fred Jr. (Gracie), Lonnie Sr. (Charlotte), Rex Sr. (Linda) and Viola Hiers-Henderson; two sisters, Octavia Lawson and Hattie Harris; brothers-in-law, Alva Mitchell (Linda) and Wardell Nash; sisters-in-law, Cora and Geneva Henderson; seventeen grandchildren; forty eight great grandchildren; two step-daughters Delois Smith and Lorretta Henderson; a loyal friend, Deacon Floyd Bates; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, August 21, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Second Antioch Baptist Church, Powhatan with interment in the Pleasant  Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.

Funeral Services for Deacon Fred L. Henderson, Sr. will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Second Antioch Baptist Church, Powhatan with interment in the Pleasant  Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
