Obituary for Davie C. Gregory, Sr.
DAVIE CLARK GREGORY, SR. entered into his eternal rest on August 28, 2008 at Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1930 to the late Daisy Powell and Charles Henry Gregory in Drakes Branch, VA.
He joined Jones RZUA Church in Blackstone, VA at a young age. Davie was a member of the Deacon Board and also served as a Sunday School teacher.
Davie served his country for two years, while enlisted in the Army actively and eight years in the Army Reserve after an Honorable Discharge.
Davie married the former Mary Ann Wallace on September 24, 1955 in Blackstone, VA. They were happily married for fifty-two years and eleven months.
Davie leaves to cherish his precious memory to his loving and devoted wife, Mary Ann Gregory; two sons, Davie (Mary) Gregory, Jr. of Blackstone, VA and Timothy (Christine) Gregory of Richmond, VA; one daughter, Gina Gregory of South Hill, VA; one brother, Wesley Gregory of Blackstone, VA; one sister, Rose Ellen Davis of Richmond, VA. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Devoted sister-in-law, Bettie Knight of Crewe, VA, devoted cousin-in-law, Christine Easterling of Silver Spring, MD and devoted son-in-law, Ronald Morgan, Sr. of Blackstone, VA.
Services Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at with viewing from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at he Funeral Home with graveside to follow at Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
