David Albert Dance departed this life on March 31, 2011 at Centra Southside Hospital in Farmville, VA. He was born in Brunswick County on July 31, 1955 to David and Sally Dance.
David was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Dance; two sons, Anthony Dance (Shawntel) of Blackstone, VA and Jerry Dance (Thuthuy) of Richmond, VA; one stepson, Vincent Haskins (April) of Richmond, VA; three stepdaughters, LaShonna Jackson (Willie), Tishia Haskins (Orbin), both of Blackstone, VA and LaSheenia Hickson (Shareef) Of Crewe, VA; a goddaughter, Keira Eppes of Georgia; two brothers, James Dance of Ettrick, VA and Johnny Dance (Elizabeth) of North Carolina; two sisters, Shirley Rawlings (Mack) of North Carolina, and Gracie Peterson of Connecticut; aunts and uncles, Pearl Edmonds of Brunswick, VA, Alice Johnson of Connecticut and Isaac Thomas of Alberta, VA; grandchildren, Jamar, Kyaaliyah, LaTaye’, TaTyana, KaTannia, O’liyah Amir, Myanna and Ayanna; many devoted friends and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with interment in the Thomas Family Cemetery, Rawlings, VA.
