Obituary for Darrell E. Cranston, Sr.
Darrell Edward Cranston, Sr. Was born August 25, 1953 in Montclair, NJ son of the late Eddie and Juanita Cranston. On Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. his life quietly and peacefully ceased at his home in Petersburg, VA after a long illness.
Darrell began his education in the Newark, NJ school systems. At the age of forty-six he surrendered his life to Christ and joined Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA.
Darrell was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Robles and his brother-in-law, Kevin L. Graves.
Darrell is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Hazel P. Graves-Cranston of Petersburg, VA; three children, Darrell Cranston, Jr. of Riverview, FL, Chanti Nicole and Eli Dawud Cranston of Petersburg, VA; two grandchildren, Omari Shaheed Thomas and Cash Aidyn Parker; one brother-in-law, Ellis E. Graves, Jr.; one sister-in-law, Lisa Graves of Richmond, VA; two dear friends, Shirley Porter and Timothy McDaniels of Newark, NJ; four nieces; one nephew and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone with private burial.
