Obituary for Daniel O. Johnson, Sr.
Daniel “Jack” O. Johnson, Sr. was born April 15, 1961 in Chesterfield, VA. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Chippenham Hospital after a brief illness. He was the oldest of four children born to Diaconate Thomas Douglas Johnson and Diaconate Martha Giles Johnson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Johnson Harris and brother, Kenneth L. Johnson.
Jack was educated in the Chesterfield County Public School System. At an early age, he was baptized and joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chesterfield, VA. Later he joined the Holy Ghost Living Tabernacle Ministries in Amelia, VA.
Jack was employed by Chesterfield County School System for many years and later by Virginia Supportive Housing, Richmond, VA.
Jack was an avid outdoorsman. His favorite pastime was working in his yard. He would spend an entire day mowing his lawn and trimming the hedges. In his free time, Jack enjoyed fishing. He also loved spending time with family and friends.
Jack was joined in marriage to Lisa Delaney Johnson on August 29, 1992. From this union, they were blessed with three children, Danielle, Daniel, Jr. and Dante. The family resides in Amelia County, Virginia.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Lisa D. Johnson; daughter, Danielle S. Johnson; sons, Daniel O. Johnson, Jr. and Dante S. Johnson; father and mother, Thomas D. and Martha G. Johnson; brothers, Eugene Johnson (Theresa) of Orlando, FL and Donald Studevant, Richmond, VA; sisters, Gloria Studevant, Richmond, VA and Virginia Falck (Paul) of Saint Mary, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Joyce Delaney; brothers-in-law, Steven Harris, Michael Delaney, and Richard Delaney; sisters-in-law, Sharon Morris (Russell); Debra Delaney, Naomi Delaney, Rose Johnson, Rachael Coleman (Lamont), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends.
