Obituary for Dallas L Crowder

God, in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to call home His child Dallas Lowell Crowder on February 28, 2023. Dallas, affectionately known as Skeeter, resided in Amelia County, Virginia where he was born to the late Mary Crowder on July 21, 1952. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Joseph Crowder. Dallas was one of fourteen siblings from his blended family. Dallas attended Russell Grove School and later graduated from Amelia County High School in 1971.

At an early age, Dallas joined the Union Branch Baptist Church in Jetersville, Virginia. Dallas was employed at the General Binding Cooperation (GBC) in Amelia County until its closure in the early 2000s. Thereafter, he began working for WalMart Distribution Center, where he later retired.

In his leisure time, he found enjoyment in cutting grass having serviced many families and churches locally after formally retiring from his 9-5. He loved hunting, fishing and being in the company of close friends and family. He truly enjoyed being outdoors and nature in its whole. He was an avid lover of Westerns and appreciated a good fried bologna sandwich, hotdogs and french fries. Although, Skeeter was a man of few words, he didn’t mind speaking his mind when it came down to it. He would selflessly help anyone who was in need. Skeeter loved his grandchildren, and was known to slip them money and treats.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mary and Joseph Crowder; brother Joseph Crowder; and sister Barbara Sheff.

Dallas leaves to cherish his fond memories: his life partner, Barbara Byars; son, Kisma Crowder (LaShawnda); daughters, Lachaela and Dallas S. Crowder; bonus children, Antonesh and Kevin Byars; grandchildren, Kaila, Zion, Aniyah, Landyn, Ava, Leah, Kamari, Kyree, and Cheyenne; a host of loving sisters, devoted, Phyliss Sheff (Ronald); brothers; aunts; uncles; a devoted friend, Edward Anderson; amongst other relatives and friends.
