Obituary for D'ajah Braxton-Hicks
D'Ajah Kazy'ah Braxton-Hicks departed this life suddenly on Sunday, June 28, 2015. She was born January 23, 1998. She was a rising senior at Amelia County High School where she played on the girls' basketball team and was a member of the DECA Club. she worked part-time at Noodles and Company in Midlothian, VA. She attended Promise Land Baptist Church and sang in the youth choir.
She is survived by her mother, Timeka Hicks; father Juan Braxton, Sr.; siblings E'Ivieyon Braxton-Hicks, Ebony, Dondrea, Juan Jr., Brandon and Dylon Braxton; maternal grandparents Thomas and Ella Archer Hicks; paternal grandmother, Ruth Braxton; nephew, Juan L. Braxton, III; aunt, Javona Braxton; great aunts, Arlene (Isaac) Johnson, Viola and Marilyn Hicks, Rose Mary Merrick, Gladys (Robert) Patrick; great uncles, Percy, George (Clara), William "Bill" (Mary), Richard "Bootsey" (Janice) and James (Deborah) Archer, Herbert (Joyce) and Louis Hicks and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Several devoted friends to include Shaquianda McCoy, Nicole Gravely, Teon Thomas, Deion Harris, Briana Clay and Sam Brown-White.Â
She was predeceased by her brother, Kevante' Christopher-Malik Hicks; uncle, Kevin Hicks; grandfather, Richy Braxton; and great aunt, Gertrude Hicks King.
D'Ajah was a kind an loving daughter, sister and friend. She adored the color RED, spending time with her Yorkie, M-Jay and playing video games.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Amelia High School. Interment to follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
