On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Curtis Leroy Epes transitioned to the house of the Lord. He was born to Gilbert and Bertha Epes on April 29, 1958.
Curtis attended Nottoway public schools. He was baptized at Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church at an early age.
Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Dowtin Epes; mother, Bertha V. Epes; sister, Helen E. Epes: two brothers, Gilbert Darnell and Dennis Lee Epes.
Curtis leaves to mourn his passing: his father, Gilbert H. Epes; children, Curtis Epes, Jr., Gilbert Busby (Marquise) and Christopher Epes; daughter/niece, Blessing Dowtin; sister, Ella Jones; brothers, Ray N. and Kenneth Epes; aunts, Ruth Lansdown, Carrie Epes and Annie Lyons; two goddaughters, Spring and Summer Hicks; two sisters-in-law, Deneen and Nancy Dowtin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 at 1:00PM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackston.
