Obituary for Corinne Hanks
CORINNE HANKS was born on November 3, 1919 to the late Arthur and Blanche Hanks of Crewe, Virginia.
Corinne departed this life suddenly on January 8, 2011 at the Manor Care Nursing Facility in Baltimore, Maryland where she was loved and cared for by many staff members and residents.
At an early age she was baptized and became a member of the Eleven Oaks Baptist Church.
Corinne received her education in the Nottoway County School system. She spent most of her adult life in New York City where she worked until her retirement.
Although Corinne never married or had any children, she was a loving and caring mentor to all her nieces and nephews.
She was an avid t.v. watcher. She loved to shop and sing hymns. She loved the Lord.
Corinne was preceded in death by her brother, Warren and sisters, Pearl Robertson, Augusta Hanks, Ernestine Carr and Bessie Hollington. Corinne leaves to mourn: one sister, Annie Allen of Baltimore, Maryland; one brother-in-law, Abraham Hollington of Charleston, South Carolina; six nieces, Patricia Allen of Baltimore, Maryland, Nora Vasquez (Efrim) of New York, Neacie Cole (Theodore) of Baltimore, Maryland, Carolyn Antoine (David) of New York, Nancy Brown (Ronald) of Concord, North Carolina and Cheryl Lee (Daryl) of New York; six great nieces; three great nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, January 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Eleven Oaks Baptist Church, Crewe with interment in the Hanks Family Cemetery, Crewe.
