Obituary for Corey Edward Rudd
Corey Edward Rudd was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 16, 2023. He was born in Baltimore, MD on July 28, 1977 to Ms. Gloria Gunter and Mr. James Rudd, Jr.
Corey received Christ at an early age a became a member of Mayflower Baptist Church in Kenbridge, VA where he was baptized.
Corey received his high school education at Central of Lunenburg High School, where he was an active member of their marching band. He played percussion and continued to play the drums throughout his life.
Corey loved spending time with family and friends. He loved his music (especially the drums), fishing, boxing and working on cars with his brother Anthony and was a collector of many things. Corey was very good with his hands and could fix just about anything. He became a maintenance worker and did very will in his field. Corey had many dreams and aspired to achieve them all.
Corey was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Gunter Bradley, his father, James Rudd, Jr. and nephew, Valeton Pratt, Jr.
Corey leaves to cherish his memory: a long time partner, Tiffany Tucker; one daughter, Mya Alexander; one son, Cayden Rudd; three sisters, Michelle Alexander, Valerie Rudd, and Patricia Scott; three brothers, Clarence Alexander, James Rudd, III and Anthony Rudd, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Tara Rudd; two brothers-in-law, Robert Scott and Aaron Venable; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00PM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, 504 East Street, Blackstone, VA.
Interment private.
