Obituary for Corey D Harper
Corey Damon Harper
1978-2018
Born on January 1, 1978 to the late Carolyn Marie Harper affectionately known as Nooney, and William (Jimmy) Irby. Corey fell asleep in death July 4, 2018. He grew up in Blackstone and attended school in Nottoway County.
Corey leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Lynn (Michelle) Ceaser and one daughter Alyssa Michelle. Corey is survived by his siblings, Christopher Tyrell Harper (Amanda) of Monroe, GA & Carnell Eugene Harper (Danielle) of Alberta, VA. His nieces and nephews; Ashley, CJ, Jada, Aayana, Taiji, and Missiah. Also included are his loving in laws: Mother-in-law: Lynn Parchment, sisters-in-law: Chey, Gabrielle (Richmond), Sandra and Sarah (New Jersey), brothers-in-law: Michael, Antonio, James and a host of other nieces and nephews. There are so many cousins, aunts, friends and loved ones too numerous to recant.
Corey enjoyed working hard and receiving the rewards of his labors. He worked for Slurry Pavers and although it was hot and hard, he loved doing his part and being part of the team. From GA to NJ, this team remained intact. He was an avid lover of music and art, that's what he did to pass the time and his love for classic cars, is known by all as can be seen by his social media account.
When it came to sports, to know Corey you had to know his team - none other than the Oakland Raiders.
Although he was never baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses he always believed and defended the beliefs of the witnesses. To be a friend of Corey, Lumpy or Big Lump was to have a friend for life. The hole his life leaves will only be filled in God's due time.
Funeral Services Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12:00 noon at W. E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, INC., Blackstone. Interment private.
