Obituary for Cora L. Henderson
Cora Henderson, 93 of Powhatan, VA entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 22, 2017. Cora was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Henderson Sr., daughter Dorothy Henderson, grandson Derek Henderson ad her parents Edinboro and Ella Jackson.
Cora is survived by her four children, Charles Jr. (Loretta), Robert Henderson (Amy), Deborah Clarke (Aubrey) and Jacquelyn Gray; nine grandchildren, Anthony (Danjile), Robert Jr., Chavonne Taylor (Brian), Marcus, Brandon (Tiffany), Shawn, Brian, Alexia and Jayla Henderson; eleven great grandchildren, Ny'iana Scruggs, Kiandra Scruggs, Marcus, Ja'Nya, Paris Gray, Anthony, Jr., Kennedy, Brailynn, Skylar, Ashlynn and Sincere; one sister Edna Johnson of North Chesterfield; three sisters-in-law Octavia Lawson, Hattie Harris and Geneva Henderson; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Cora joined Flower Hill Baptist Church, Amelia, VA at an early age. She served at Second Antioch Baptist Church after marriage. Cora was a member of the White Orchid Chapter #182, Order of Eastern Star of Virginia, PHA where she served as Worthy Matron.
Cora was cared for by her caregivers Debbie and Jackie and her devoted great granddaughter Paris Gray. A special thanks to Kindred Hospice for all their care and support.
Funeral Services Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from Second Antioch Baptist Church, Powhatan, VA. Interment church cemetery.
