Obituary for Clara R. Jackson
Mrs. Clara Reese Jackson affectionally known as “Puddin” of Wilsons, Virginia departed this life on March 12, 2018 peacefully at her home. She was born August 21, 1941 in Ford, Virginia to the late Ruth Inez Wilson Jackson and Horace Hayes. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Mt. Poole Baptist Church.
Clara was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. As a young woman, she lived and worked in Yonkers, New York and later returned to Virginia. She believed in hard-work and commitment evidenced by over 30 total years of employment with Levi Strauss and White-Hall Robins.
Maintaining her true entrepreneurial spirit after retirement, she started her own cleaning service until extensive care was required for her beloved Walter. Clara had the great fortune of marrying the love of her life, to whom she was married for 20 years. They provided a loving home for their children, grandchildren and all who stopped by. Clara loved fashion, gardening, decorating, and scratching a few lottery tickets on occasion. She enjoyed chatting with her girlfriends and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Jackson, brother Eddie M. Jackson, stepson Larry Harrod and step-granddaughter Takeeta Cooper Davis.
She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories; her devoted daughters, Brenda Blackwell Butler of Wilsons and Connie Blackwell Jackson (Brian) of South Riding. She is also survived and beloved by three grandchildren, Cameron A. Butler and Reese C. Jackson of South Riding, and devoted granddaughter, Candis N. Blackwell of Wilsons; one devoted great-grandson, Ryan T.
