Obituary for Clara L. Morgan-Hester
Clara Lisa Morgan Hester transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest and peace on Thursday, March 14, 2013.  She was born August 24, 1966 to Mr. and Rev. Mrs. Gilbert Morgan.
Clara was educated in the Nottoway County Public School System and graduated from Nottoway Senior High School in 1984.  During her high school years, she was crowned Miss Teenage Nottoway in a local pageant and went on to be first-runner up at the state level.  Lisa was a Cum Laude graduate of Virginia Union University with a degree of Bachelor of Arts, Division of Humanities.  She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and served as Dean of Pledges.
Clara accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 10 and joined Mt. Zion R.Z.U.A. Church in Blackstone, Virginia.  Later Clara joined New Life Outreach International Church where she served as an Elder, a member of the Women’s Ministry and was  enrolled in a Bible class offered through the church.
Clara was employed as Officer, Portfolio Client Strategy Team, at Sun Trust Mortgage, Inc,. Richmond, Virginia.
Clara was preceded in death by her daughter, Morgan Deanna Hester; her husband, Walter Hester, Jr., who also died on March 14, 2013.
Clara loved people and sought to help them.  She loved her Lord and did everything possible to please Him which included Daily reading and studying God’s Word.
She had worked with Tre’s class since the beginning of his school career.  She planned all the fun activities including field trips, bowling trips, etc.  She had participated in and was training for this years 10K race.  It will be hard to fill the many places where she served, but we ask for God’s guidance.
Clara leaves to cherish her memory:  a loving son, Walter Hester, III (Tre’); loving devoted parents, Mr. and Rev. Mrs. Gilbert Morgan of Blackstone, VA; her grandmother, Clara Willingham of Blackstone, VA; a god sister, Linda Morgan Glover of Mt. Vernon, NY; a god brother, Minister Robert Jones, Jr. of Blackstone, VA; three god children, Brooke Williams of Hampton, VA, Celesia and Vincent Jr. Smith of Richmond, VA; one uncle, Samuel (Louise) Morgan of Richmond, VA; one aunt, Lucy Clay of Nashville, TN; one great uncle, Gilbert Epes of Blackstone, VA; two great aunts, Ruth (Louis) Landsdown of Oxon Hill, MD and Mabel Burrell of Yorktown, VA; two sisters-in-law, Darlene (Jeff) Slade of Richmond, VA and Juanita (William) Palmer of Williamsburg, VA; a devoted cousin, Marie Morgan Edwards of Richmond, VA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a dear and lovely pet, Coco.  There are three steps to heaven  -  out of self; into Christ; into Glory.  Lisa took these first two steps in life and lived a beautiful life in Christ.  Now she has taken the third step where there is no more weeping, no pain, no sorrow, and no disappointments.
