Obituary for Charles W. Mavin, III
Charles Waxston Mavin, III, (better known as Junior/Bigalow) departed this life on March 22, 2015 at VCU/MCV in Richmond, Virginia after a brief illness. He was born on October 2, 1948 to Charles and Betty Mavin, Jr., his father preceded him in death.
Charles was baptized at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at an early age. He graduated from Luther H. Foster in 1967. After graduation he relocated to New Jersey.
Charles was in the United States Army and was discharged in 1973. he was employed by Ali-Chemicals until he retired. After retiring her returned to Blackstone, Virginia.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory:Â a wife, Michelle of New Jersey; a loving mother, Betty Mavin of Blackstone, VA; two brothers, Kenneth Mavin (Lori) of New Jersey and Archie Mavin (Yvonne) of Maryland; one sister, Theresa Mavin of Blackstone, VA; a devoted half-brother, James Harris of Blackstone, VA; two uncles, Archie Williams (Mildred) of Pennsylvania and Alfred Mavin (Beatrice) of Blackstone, VA; devoted cousin, Lee Scott, Sr. (Mann); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment private
