Obituary for Charles E. Martin, Jr.
On Saturday, March 19, 2022, God called one of his cherished children home to be with him. He will be truly missed beyond words, but God was ready for him to take a seat by him in Heaven.

Charles Edward “Boo” or “Katy” Martin Jr, was born on February 9, 1978, to Charles and Linda Martin Sr. He attended Amelia County High School, where he excelled in football and graduated in 1996. After graduation he went to serve in the United States Navy for a period of time. He was employed at an early age and worked for the following companies: FW Vaughan, SB Cox, VDOT, Colony Construction, and C. E. Martin Hauling and Construction. His most recent employer was UPS.

He was baptized June 5, 2011, at Branches Runn Baptist Church. He was a member of the Men’s Ministry where he served as president and a member of the Ushers’ Ministry where he also served as president. He served God faithfully until his unexpected death.

Charles was an avid hunter. He loved to fish and spend time with family and friends. He was always the life of the party. Charles was a member of the Welcome in Social Club. The true joy of his life was spending time with his children.

Charles married the love of his life, Patrice Coleman Martin on May 13, 2006, in Blackstone, Virginia. From this union they were blessed with two beautiful children, Kaitlyn and Kaden.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Lon Davis Martin Sr. and maternal grandparents, Arthur and Laura Wilson Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his best friend, confidant, partner, and forever soulmate of 15 years Patrice Martin; children, Kaitlyn and Kaden; his parents, Charles and Linda Martin Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Frank and Juanita Woodley Jr.; paternal grandmother, Doris Vaughan; two sisters, Crystal Owens (Chris) and Dessarae Martin; one niece, Reese Owens; three nephews, Trent Owens (who was more so like a son), Carter and Dakari Archer; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that are too numerous to name; a devoted cousin that was more like a brother, Graham Martin; a devoted cousin that was more so like a sister, Stephanie Martin; devoted friends, Derrick Booker, Joseph Holloway, Lamar Craft, Travis Coleman and Danny Jones.

Viewing Friday, March 25, 2022 from 1 to 7PM. Funeral Services Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 12:00PM at Amelia County High School, 8500 Otterburn Rd., Amelia 23002.
Interment Branches Runn Baptist Church Cemetery, 3830 Woodley Dr., Amelia, VA.
