Obituary for Charles E. Elder
Charles Eugene Elder, son of the late Theodore and Gladys Ross Elder was born in Nottoway County, Virginia on January 15, 1933.  He transitioned this life on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Heritage Hall Nursing Facility surrounded by family and nursing staff. 
He was educated in Nottoway County School System.  He rededicated his soul to the Lord at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Charles retired after thirty-one years of service as a truck driver from Richfood Inc. in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Charles loved dancing, singing, fishing and enjoying quality time with his girls and family.  He also loved playing Bingo and Fantasy Football as a resident at Heritage Hall.  He was known for various famous nicknames, Road Trotter, Charlie Charlie, Elder Brown and Blue.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers and two grandsons.
Charles leaves to cherish his precious memories:  five loving daughters, Charlena White (Alfred Jr.), Marcella White, Sandra Elder, Connie Glenn and Sharon Elder; seven grandchildren, Precious, Deena, Alaine, Ebony, Brandon, Mario and Adrianna; seven great grandchildren; six sisters, Clara (Leon), Elnora, Morrine, Gertrude, Corrine and Shirley; one brother, Danny (Rene); a dear friend, Christine Elder; a devoted friend, US Marine Officer, Mark Cooper; devoted and loving staff of Heritage Hall, Blackstone, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
