Obituary for Celia Rose Barley
Celia Rose (Boo) Barley answered the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for her new life in eternity on Sunday, November 4, 2007 after a lengthy battle following a car accident on September 23, 2007.  Celia was born on April 29, 1962 to the late William (Wint) and Mary Pitchford. She attended Amelia County High School.  Celia was baptized at an early age, and thereafter joined Union Branch Baptist Church.Celia enjoyed caring for others.  She was a CNA for twenty-five years.  She worked for the Amelia County School system for seven years.  Another passion Boo had was babysitting her grandchildren. She was a strong, loving and understanding wife, mother and grandmother.  we will cherish the moments and never let go of the wonderful memories.  Instead of being cast down by sadness, we should rejoice and thank God that our loved one is at last with our heavenly Father.Celia leaves to cherish her memory:  her loving and devoted husband of twenty-four years, David N. Barley, Sr.; two daughters, Shawnte' Barley (fiance' Antoine Greene) and Alvita "Peaches" (Stacy) Byrd, Jr. of Amelia; three step children, DAvid Barley, Jr. and Charita Tyler of Richmond and Stacy Barley of Maryland; seven grandchildren, Damian, Davonah, Jamie, Stacy III, Fayth, Ah'Kyra and Za'Kiyah; one brother, William (Hoot) Booker (Lavada); three nieces, Donna (Larry) Lee, Darlene (Richard) Brown and Demetria (Bobby) Holman; one devoted sister/cousin, Katherine (Jane) Tabb; five aunts, Celia Royal, Amanda Pitchford, Elizabeth Pegram, Gladys Taylor and Gwendolyn Pitchford; four uncles, Phillip Pitchford, Joe Lewis (Lucille) Booker, Ben Jr. and Henry Booker; one great nephew, Damien Brown and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; devoted cousin, Reverend Ervin Booker; dedicated reding partner, Delia Jackson; riding buddies, DJ Washington and Antoine Greene.Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. from Union Branch Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.Michael W.
