Obituary for Cecil E. Yates
On December 3, 2014, surrounded by family at the Saint Francis Hospital in Midlothian, Virginia, CECIL EARL YATES heard the trumpet sound shortly after twelve in the afternoon, placed his hand in God’s hand, and his spirit moved from his earthly body into eternal sleep.
On October 22, 1955, Cecil was the first of five children born to Virgie Yates and the late Roger Lee Yates, Sr.  Cecil was educated in the Nottoway County Public schools.
He joined Cellar Creek Baptist Church at an early age.
