Obituary for Cassandra E. Jones
Cassandra Elaine Mondrey Jones departed this life to live with her eternal Savior on Monday, June 22, 2020, the pearly gates of heaven were opened and she was welcomed. She was born to William J. Mondrey and the late Annie Smith Mondrey on February 9, 1959 in Amelia County, Virginia.

She attended Amelia County Public Schools graduating from Amelia County High in 1977. After graduation she joined the military and entered the U.S. Army where she faithfully served her country.

She began her Christian walk at an early age by joining Liberty Baptist Church. At a young age she was baptized, attended Sunday School, and church services on a regular basis.

Her infectious personality and smile lit up a room. She would always have you in stitches laughing at her humor. She was so funny, and she always had a joke for you. She loved her family, and she showed genuine compassion which was felt by all whom she encountered. None of us know yet the impact of the void she leaves behind. She exhibited love and received love in return. To God be the glory for the impact of her life.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Trevelle Mondrey; father, William J. Mondrey (Lois); brothers, Willard (Cindy) and James Mondrey (Beth); two grandchildren, Tailyn and Trevelle, Jr.; two nieces, Alyssa and Jordan; two nephews, Derrick and Miles Mondrey. Significant loving and devoted longtime friend who loved and deeply cared for her, Lago Weaver. (Lago enjoyed calling her his honey). Twelve aunts, Elizabeth Anderson, devoted aunt Katie Cleveland, Virgie Banks, Betty Smith, Mary Jasper, Louise Harris, Martha Smith, Minister Nancy Clarke (William Lee), Audrey Caison, Augusta Thornton (David), Marilyn Rose (Garland), and Maxine Mondrey; three uncles, Paul, Victor, and Andrew Mondrey (Sharon); a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1:00 a.m. at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, Amelia. Interment Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.

Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Amelia in charge of arrangements.
