Obituary for Carrol A. Green
CAROL ANDREW GREEN was born on September 3, 1937 in Louisa County, Virginia to the late Creed Nelson and Helen Green. Carol departed this life on January 10, 2010 at the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland.
He attended Luther H. Foster School in Nottoway County, Virginia. Carol served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge.
He was employed by Miller and Smith Construction Company in May, 1975 and worked there until he retired on January 8, 2010.
Carol was preceded in death by two children, Janet Corbett and Carol A. Green, Jr., but leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Shirley Green; one daughter, Joy Farrow of Arlington, Virginia; three sons, Darryl Green of Prince George’s County, Maryland, David Green of Ruther Glen, Virginia and Nelson Green of Ruther Glen, Virginia; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Willingham of Blackstone, Virginia and Ruth Ellen (Louis) Lansdown of Oxon Hill, Maryland; his longtime friend, Ms. Bertha Thompson; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
