Obituary for Carolyn E. Jarmon

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, our Heavenly Father touched Carolyn Elizabeth Jarmon and said “My child, it’s time to enter eternal rest where you will be free of pain, suffering, and find rest from your labor.

Carolyn was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 9, 1941 to the late Booker T. Wiggins and Lillian Adelaide Wiggins. Carolyn attended the Philadelphia Public School System and Wilfred Beauty Academy where she earned her certificate in cosmetology. Her work included being a hairstylist, owner of a hotdog cart, and a seamstress at the Philco Manufacturing Company for many years. Carolyn loved children and was a foster parent to several infants, toddlers and young children.

Carolyn became a Jehovah Witness early in her life. She later became a Christian and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 2018, she joined Cedar Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women’s and Senior Citizen’s ministries. She was also a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church choir.

Carolyn was well liked by many of her friends and family. She was always available as a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen for those of us who needed help, advice, and needed to vent.

On July 18, 1970, Carolyn married the love of her life, Melvyn Wellington Jarmon. They remained a loving, caring and devoted couple for over fifty-two years.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: Booker and Lillian; her husband: Melvyn; three brothers: Jack, Charles, and Clarence (Hun); and two sisters: Alyce and Adelaide (Barbara). She leaves to cherish her legacy of love, one adopted daughter: Sara Jarmon of Fort Worth, TX; one granddaughter: Aria Taylor; her very special and devoted niece: Adrienne Lyons; one brother: Howard Wiggins; two sisters-in-law: Betty Wiggins and Millicent Wiggins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
