Obituary for Carolyn A. Banks
CAROLYN ARLENE BANKS (better known as “Tuttie”) is the daughter of Mary Jane Banks and the late Mike Banks, Jr.
After a lengthy illness, she departed this life on January 25, 2011, at her residence.
She attended Amelia County High School and graduated with the class of 1976.
She joined Liberty Baptist Church at an early age. After moving to Richmond, she would attend her home church whenever she could. Tuttie was a very quiet and humble person who was about peace. She knew and loved the Lord.
Tuttie was an employee of the Berkley Hotel for eighteen years until her health began to fail.
Tuttie is survived by her two devoted daughter, Candace and Chantel Banks of Richmond; a loving granddaughter, Zaniyah Banks of Richmond; her dedicated mother, Mary Jane Banks of Amelia; one brother, Bernard Banks of Amelia; three devoted sisters, Gale Banks of Richmond, Sherry and Andrea Banks of Amelia; a host of loving nieces and nephews; devoted aunts; a special uncle, James Banks of Richmond and other relatives and friends, among them the Berkley Hotel co-workers, and the Chippenham Place Apartment friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Ameila in charge of arrangements.
