Obituary for Caroline R. Brown
Caroline Reed Brown, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend was born March 3, 1941 in Amelia County, VA. Caroline was the sixth child born to the late Joseph and Martha Reed. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 7:15 p.m., God called Caroline to eternal rest.
Caroline was educated in the Amelia County Public Schools. She began her Christian journey at an early age and was baptized and became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Amelia, VA.
Caroline worked at McGuire Veterans Hospital for more than ten years. She also worked at Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center and later worked as a private duty nurse until her health began to fail. Her pastime hobbies were reading and bingo.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: a loving husband of 53 years, Carl Lee Brown, Sr.; one son, Carl Lee Brown, Jr. (Rose) of Conyers, GA; two daughters, Colleen Evans (Kenneth) of Petersburg, VA and Karen Jasper of Powhatan, VA; one sister, Martha Banks of Amelia, VA; one brother, Robert Reed (Queen) of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Brown of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a special child to her, Brandon Holley; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 14201 Mead Rd., Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
