Obituary for Carl L. Brown, Sr.
Carl Lee Brown Sr, a loving father, grandfather and friend was born December 11, 1932 in Powhatan County, VA. Carl was raised by the late Garfield and Arnett Brown of Powhatan. On Wednesday March 22, 2022 at 12:15 am., God called Carl to eternal rest.
Carl was educated in the Powhatan County Public Schools. He began his Christian journey at an early age, was baptized and became a member of Hollywood Baptist Church in Powhatan, VA.
Carl (better known as Lee Brown) worked at Richfood for more than 25 years until his retirement in 1996. His favorite pastime hobbies were gardening, fishing and hunting. Lee had numerous skills. He built his first home in Amelia County, VA with assistance from Plessant Hyde. He worked on cars, trucks and a tractor. He even raised and slaughtered hogs back in the day.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gracie Bell and wife, Caroline Brown, but leaves to cherish fond memories, one Son Carl Lee Brown Jr (Rose) of Conyers, GA; two daughters Colleen Evans (Kenneth) of Petersburg, VA and Karen Jasper of Powhatan, VA; four grandchildren, Rodericko Brown, Qunicy Brown, Jewel Simmons (James) and Harvey Carter. Four great grandchildren; Erica Johnson, Caleigh Brown, Rodericko Brown Jr, Eric Johnson, Nadiya Carter, and Emani Carter; one sister-in-law Queen Reed. Lee; a special friend John Edwards and a host of other friends.
