Obituary for Calvin R. Jones
Gently and peacefully, our family circle was broken on Monday, March 9, 2015. Our beloved brother, uncle, brother-in-law, Mr. Calvin Roosevelt Jones, departed this life at his resident. Calvin Roosevelt Jones was born on March 5, 1955 in Amelia Courthouse, Virginia to the late Mrs. Pearline Jones and Jack Jones of Ford, Virginia.
Calvin was baptized at an early age at Mt. Level Baptist Church in Amelia Courthouse, Virginia where he served for numerous of years. He was a quiet person but always kind, loving, and friendly to everyone. He was educated in the public schools of Amelia Courthouse. He also, worked numerous jobs around this area. He was employed with The Smith’s Tobacco Company of Amelia for several years there they gave him the nickname of “Black Pepper”. Calvin also worked with the Milner’s family.
Calvin enjoyed hanging out with his family members especially a devoted nephew Robert (Truck Driver, Bubba) Booker and two devoted nieces Anna Booker Edmonds and Hazel (Sister) Booker. Three dear and loyal neighbors Ms. Alma, Hambone, and Viglow were always there for him.
He leaves to cherish a legacy of precious memories, a loving and devoted Sister Ella Mae Booker (Robert deceased), Hattie Hill (Floyd), Pearlann Edmonds (Williard), Julia Stokes (John), Deaconess Rosa Royal (Joseph Sr.), Margaret Booker (James) all of Amelia Courthouse, Virginia. Three devoted brothers: James Jones, Frank Jones (Ethel) and Thomas Jones (Sarah) all of Amelia Courthouse, Virginia. One devoted sister-in-law, Sandra Jones (Jack Jones, deceased). A host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and many friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Level Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
