Obituary for Brian L. Edmonds
Brian Lamont Edmonds departed this life on March 1, 2016.  He was born on June 14, 1974 in Richmond, VA to Shirley Cousar and Joe Brown.
During his younger years, Brian was educated in the Nottoway County School System.  Upon completion of high school, he continued his education at VA Tech University.  Brian’s passion was football in which he was a stand out fullback at VA Tech.  In 2001 he went on to play Arena Football with the Richmond Speed.  He always greeted everyone with a warm welcoming smile.
Brian devoted his life after his college years to his son, Amari.  When it came to being a father, he went above and beyond any expectations.  His face would light up with any conversation about Amari.
Brian excepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Level Baptist Church.
Brian leaves to cherish his precious memories:  his mother and stepfather, Shirley (Steve) Cousar; his son, Amari Edmonds; four sisters, Cortina Johnson of Blackstone, VA, Latasha (Lonnie) Henderson of Amelia, VA, Anita (Ellis) Squire and Donna (Curtis) Johnson both of Prince George, VA; one brother, Milton Brown of Prince George, VA; grandmother, Margie Mitchell of Blackstone, VA; uncles, Frank (Delois), Ricky and Dwayne Mitchell all of Blackstone, VA, and Richard Lawrence of Long Island, NY; aunts, Charlotte Edmonds of Blackstone, VA, Elayne Lawrence and Betty Lawrence both of Long Island, NY; two great aunts, Annette (Clinton) and Patsy (Thomas) both of Blackstone, VA; two great-great uncles, Marvin (Helen) of Killeen, TX and Wilson Edmonds of Petersburg, VA; one great-great aunt, Virginia Wilson of Hopewell, VA; three very special cousins, Angie Edmonds, Lisa Jennings and Sharon Hawkes; devoted friend, Natasha Ghee; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
