Obituary for Beverly Lee Branch
Beverly L. Branch was born to Merdies Branch-Harvell on December 7, 1929, in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. It was there he met his companion of many years, Ella J. Carter. He moved to Washington, DC in the mid-1960s seeking job opportunities. He later moved to Cheverly, Maryland after he retired from the construction industry. He held a post-retirement job there at the Quincy Manor Apartments until the late 1990s.
Beverly was a quiet, humble man who was self-sufficient right to the end of his natural life. His passions were fishing and hunting.
He is survived by sons Hollie Carter (Graciela), Tommy Carter (Carolyn), step-daughters Patricia A. Clark, Elnora Clark. Grandchildren Trevonia Carter, Thomas Carter, Daniel Carter, Victoria Carter, Roman Carter, and Alexander Carter. Step-grandchildren Lisa Vaughn, Cheryl Ward, Carlton Clark Jr., Charlotte Clark, Melinda Clark, Henry Edmonds, Tracy Edmonds, Kenneth Edmonds, Kenneth Jones, Gloria Jones and a host of great grandchildren, and step grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his step daughter Beatrice Edmonds, step son McArthur Jones, and step grandchild Casey Clark.
Funeral Services Friday, December 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
