Obituary for Bessie J. Stith
On this day, March 4, 2019, our mother, grandmother, aunt and best friend, Bessie J. Stith was called into eternal rest at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia. Bessie was born on January 20, 1940.
Bessie was educated in the Nottoway county schools. She joined Shiloh Baptist Church.
Bessie married Charles Stith, he preceded her in death, and to this union two children were born, Charles Anthony Stith and Charmora De Fransin Stith.
Bessie worked for Blackstone Dry Cleaners, Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Levi Strauss Factory and Blackstone Primary School and Piedmont Geriatric Hospital.
Bessie was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Jones Tucker; brother, Charlie Edward Tucker; and step-father, Charlie Lee Tucker, Jr.
Bessie leaves to cherish her lovely memories: a very devoted daughter, Veronica (Melvin) Vincent, Charlie (Lucille) Stith, Charmora Stith and Handre’ (Tequisha) Williams; she raised Shardere Goode (Ike Goode) and Lynelle Jones as her children; eleven grandchildren, Melvin L. (Naesha) Vincent, Tramaine Stith, Tyrika Stith, Terrence Stith, Trechelle Stith, Charles Stith, De Shawn Fowlkes, Shanyia Williams, DeAndre Williams and De Anthony Stith; great grandchildren, Jaylen Vincent, Zayvion Vincent, Denim Vincent, Zamir Stith, Envii Shaw, Devine Shaw, Gottti Stith, Taliya Cappellitti, De Shawn Meritt, Ny’Ashia Meitt and Karion Fowkes; a very special friend, John Lincoln Tucker; a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Springhill Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
