Obituary for Barbara Ann Jones
Barbara Ann Jones “Bucksy”, daughter of Emma G. Jones and the late Willie A. (Bobby) Jones was born July 12, 1961 in Nottoway County. She departed this life on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her home in Blackstone, VA.
Barbara attended Nottoway Public Schools and graduated from Nottoway Senior High in 1980. At an early age she became a member of Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church. Later in life she joined Shiloh Baptist Church where she remained an active member until her death.
Barbara has worked at various places of employment, Willow Creek Nursing Home and McDonalds in Richmond, VA and Brandermill Woods in Chesterfield.
Barbara was a community missionary worker and had a strong love for everyone no matter who they were. She always found the strength to always lend a helping hand.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted daughter, Atrinell (Nell) Abbott of Blackstone, VA; two sisters, Emma J. Jones and Gertrude (Trudy) Jones, both of Blackstone, VA; two brothers, Bernard A. Jones of Blackstone, VA and Larry C. Jones of Amelia, VA; two devoted nieces, Angela B. Chukwudebelu (Charles) and Richelle N. Owens; one devoted nephew, Larry C. Jones Jr. (LJ); a devoted father figure, Eugene (Teddy Bear) Thomas; seven god children, Chimere, Tralve, Mark, Arquan, Tralve IV, Akeira and Jeremiah; three special and devoted friends, Charlene, Debra and Elsie; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, July 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Blackstone with burial to follow in the Gordon Family Cemetery, Kenbridge.
