Obituary for Audrey Marie Benjamin
Audrey Marie Benjamin was born on April 17, 1963 to William and Betty Benjamin in New York City. On Wednesday morning, March 28, 2018, while lying peacefully at home in her bed, God in his infinite wisdom called Audrey Marie Benjamin to her eternal home.
Audrey attended public schools in Brooklyn, NY. She loved the Lord and attended House of Faith in Brooklyn, NY under the leadership of the late Reverend Abraham Brown, Sr. (uncle).
Audrey relocated to Blackstone, VA where she became a member of Spirit of Life Christian Church under the leadership of Reverend Kippy Lundy.
Audrey lived life to the fullest in spite of living with Cerebral Palsy. She was known for her great personality, her wisdom and her determination to never give up. Audrey was a mentor to all that came in contact with her. She was loved by so many and she loved all.
Audrey was preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Betty Benjamin. She leaves to cherish her memories: three sisters, Modesty Sanders, Delores Smalls and Sureena Benjamin; six brothers, Rolland, Michael, Johnathan, Alking, Robert and William Jr. Benjamin; two brothers-in-law, James Sanders and James Smalls; one sister-in-law, Iyesha Benjamin; ten aunts, Josie, Vera, Anne, Elieen, Willamay, Ethel Rosetta, Alice, Barbara and Elaine; one uncle, John Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service Friday, April 6, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church, 1501 Decatur St., Richmond. Interment Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
