Obituary for Anthony T. McCoy
Anthony Terrell McCoy affectionately known as “Boo”, the loving son of Jacquelyn McCoy and Gregory Sr. was born August 28, 1984, in Richmond, Va.
As a young child Boo was baptized and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cumberland, VA where he sang in the choir.
Boo began his education in the Cumberland County Public School System before moving to New York where he continued his education in the Riverhead Public School System.
Over the years Boo worked with his brother Gregory doing construction work and while he was no stranger to hard work, he also shared his mother’s love of helping others. He worked as a Home Health Aide as well as working with the Salvation Army. Boo would give his last for anyone who needed it. He could brighten your day by simply being there.
Anthony is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mary Brunskill and Alice Booker, his grandfather Lester McCoy and his brother Aaron Simpson. Joined in death by his mother Jacquelyn McCoy, sister MaryAlice Booker and fiancé Tameka Foster.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his two darling children daughter, Latiara McCoy and son Anthony McCoy Jr; father, Gregory Sr. (Jeannie); grandfather, John Nash “Papi”; brother, Gregory Booker, Jr. (Osiris); sisters, Tawana Davis (Tory), Tamara Simpson, Tara Simpson, countless aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and friends.
A memorial service for Anthony along with his sister MaryAlice Booker will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Center Union Baptist Church, Powhatan. Interment Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Cartersville, VA.
