Annie Mae Branch Tabon, 96 of Blackstone, VA, departed her earthly home and entered her heavenly home on early Sunday morning, October 3, 2021, in Blackstone, VA. Annie Mae was born on March 7, 1925, in Dinwiddie County to her parents, the late Sydnor and Gertie Branch.
She received her education in Dinwiddie County. She was employed by Virginia Steam Laundry in Blackstone for several years. Annie Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Dinwiddie County at an early age and was a faithful and devoted member until her declining health.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Tabon, Sr.; two sons Robert Branch and Thomas Tabon, Jr.; three sisters Louise Morgan, Emma Hill, and Lena B. Tabon; three brothers-in-law Andrew Morgan, Allen Hill, and Frank Tabon; one daughter-in-law Joanne Tabon; one son-in-law Edward Cousins; and two grandsons Dwayne Tabon and Anthony Tucker.
Annie Mae was married to the late Thomas Tabon, Sr. for sixty years. They renewed their vows on October 22, 2007. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cousin who loved her family with all her heart. She was affectionately called “Granny”. She had a sunny disposition and was loved by all who knew her. She loved to sing old gospel songs.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Lena Tabon Cousins and one loving son, Jerry Tabon, Sr. (Cassandra); six loving grandchildren, LaTrece Tucker Coleman (Daryl, Sr.), Artric Tucker (Menia), Wardell Cousins (Kiosha), LaTonya Tabon Graves, Jeneane Tabon Holmes, Jerry ‘JT’ Tabon, Jr. (Learna); one step grandson, Darryl Givens, and a loving granddaughter-in-law, Audreynette Williams-Tucker. Twelve loving great-grandchildren, Jasmine Coleman, Daryl ‘DJ’ Coleman, Jr., Saveyon Cousins, Kavion Cousins, Kolen Graves, Tristan Graves, Jourdain Tabon, Jada Holmes, Jayvon Tabon, Khadijah Tabon, Briana Tabon, and Cierra Tabon. Six step grandchildren, Taevhan Rose, Torianzo Rose, Jahke Berkley, Onikda Ritter, Duncan Givens, and Andrew Givens. A special cousin, Martha Bridgforth, two devoted friends, Ralph and Blondie Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
