Obituary for Annie Lorraine Smith
(Annie) Lorraine Smith, daughter of late Alberta and William Rowe, was born on April 23, 1935 and departed this life on November 29, 2021 in the comfort of her home in Chesterfield, VA.

Lorraine attended Luther H. Foster School in Nottoway, VA. She continued her education in nursing after high school. Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and Fort Pickett employed her for over 30 years, working in the medical field, dedicating herself to helping others. Early on she enjoyed attending and participating in her kids sport events. One of her favorite recreations was enjoying time with loved ones at the racetrack and spending time with family and friends.

Lorraine leaves her relatives to cherish her memories; siblings, Clara Donnally (Joe) and James Rowe (Patricia); children, Lisa Hughes of Burkeville, VA, Steven Smith of Glen Burnie, MD, Gregory “GG” Smith of Crewe, VA, Cheryl Bryant of Crewe, VA and Gerald Smith of Burkeville, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Tonya Smith, Michael Edward Smith, Jr. (LaToya), Tasha Booker (Troy), Brian Hughes, Timothy Hughes, Jazzmin Wimberley, Ellis Bryant, Shoniqua Eppes, Kadesha Eppes, Chloe Smith and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Edward Smith, Sr. and Vincent Smith, siblings, Eunice Rowe, Billie Rowe and Betty Rowe. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter-in-law, Tobbie Hicks Smith.

Public viewing will be on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 1:30PM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone. The Interment will be at Jackson Cemetery in Crewe, VA.
