Obituary for Annie L. Worsham
ANNIE LEE HARRIS WORSHAM, age 87, on Tuesday evening around 6:30 p.m., raised her hands to the heavens and summoned the heavenly angels, she whispered softly the words, “come on”. Encircled by her loving sons and family members, she gently and peacefully transitioned from this earth into eternal rest with the Lord at 7 p.m. at Johnston Willis/Thomas John Cancer Hospital in Chesterfield, VA.
Annie Lee, the daughter of Joe Harris & Addie Williams Harris was born on August 30, 1923 in the Spainville community of Nottoway County. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary Harris Ross Clark, Clara Harris Worsham, and Joe Michael Harris. She attended the Nottoway County Public School System.
At an early age, confessed Christ as her personal Saviour and became a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone, Virginia. There at Cedar Hill, she served God and her church in whatever capacity she could. She was a faithful and dedicated member up to her death. She was a member of the choir for many years. She demonstrated great faith and trust in the Lord. She knew that He was in control and therefore no need for her to worry.
She was married 60 plus years to George L. Worsham who preceded her in death on October 8, 2004. To this union they were blessed with two sons.
Left to treasure a legacy of precious memories are her two sons, George A. “Johnnie” Worsham (Joyce) of Henrico; and Jerry L. Worsham (Charlotte) of Chesterfield; three grandsons; Keith J. Worsham (Katina) of Henrico, Marco D. Worsham (Shelley) of Brooklyn, NY and Brandon Worsham of Chesterfield; three great-grandson; Andrew, Jacob and Alexander; two great-granddaughters, Sydney and Marley. Two sister–in-laws, Elizabeth Clarke of Richmond, and Hattie Pearl Worsham of Blackstone, VA; a number of caring nieces; particularly Mildred Clark, nephews, cousins, friends and her caretakers of Caremed, Inc., especially Elizabeth Hurt.
We will miss her dearly, but will cherish our fond memories of her forever.
