Obituary for Annie L. Tyler
Annie Laura Augusta Harris Tyler of Amelia, Virginia departed this life on March 22, 2013 at the age of 73. She was born on December 25, 1939, the daughter of the late Joseph and Vera Harris.
She was baptized at an early age at the Flower Hill Baptist Church and attended Russell Grove High School. She taught for Amelia County Public Schools for number of years and retired from The Piece Goods Shops in 1993.
Annie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Roscoe Tyler in 1956, and to this union they were blessed with two children, Pamela and Roscoe II.
Annie served faithfully as a Deaconess, Sunday school teacher, choir member and Missionary Auxiliary secretary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Tyler I. She is survived her daughter, Pamela; her son, Roscoe (Tammy); grandchildren, ShaVera Tyler and Jonathan Anderson; sisters, Lillian Hicks and Juanita Jones; brothers, Aubrey and Douglas Harris; sisters-in-law, Louise Harris, Virginia, Phyllis and Sarah Baker and Maggie Goode; brother-in-law, James Baker (Rosa); devoted friends, Irene Banks, Estelle Woodson, Barbara Jones, Geneva Jones, Maitland Cooper, Elvira Ford, Edna Johnson; “like a daughter,” Gloria Ruffin; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Flower Hill Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
