Obituary for Annie B. Wright
Mrs. Annie B. Wright peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. She was born on September 5, 1909 to the late Sonk Blackwell and Emma Johnson. She received her education in the Dinwiddie County Public School System.
At an early age, she gave her life to God and became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Blackstone, VA. Her desire to be closer to her mother's church family led her to later join Mount Poole Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, VA where she remained until death. She loved to play piano and has served (at one time or another) as the musician for many of the area churches. Jerusalem Baptist Church in Blackstone, Branches Runn Baptist Church in Amelia, Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Blackstone, Cellar Creek Baptist Church in Blackstone, Little Mount Baptist Church in Blackstone, Manassa Hill Baptist Church in Amelia, Mount Gazerine Baptist Church in Blackstone, Mount Level Baptist Church in Amelia, Mount Nebo Baptist Church in Blackstone, Poplar Lawn Baptist Church in Blackstone, Shiloh Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, Springhill Baptist Church in Blackstone and Union Baptist Church in Crewe are some of the churches she has played for over the years.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband (Lawrence Pritchett), her second husband (Wilson Wright), four brother (Thad White, Lee White, Wages White and Hammett Blackwell), six sisters (Sylvia White, Jennie White, Mamie Jones, Addie Akers, Agnes Blackwell and Nannie Clark), one daughter (Annie Pearl Clarke), two sons (Edward Lee and Earl Pritchett), and one grandson (Lawrence Clarke).
Left to cherish her memories are five children:Â Floyd Pritchett (Leola) of Richmond, VA, Nathaniel Pritchett (Geraldine) of Blackstone, VA, James Pritchett (Ethel Dean) of Columbus, GA, Curtis Pritchett (Geneva) of Blackstone, VA and Lois Moore of Killeen, TX; 32 grandchildren; 56 great grandchilden and 21 great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Julia Bailey and Bridie Bowers; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Poole Baptist Church in Ford, VA with interment in the church cemetery.
