Obituary for Annette Catherine Hawkes
Annette Catherine Edmonds Hawkes was granted her angel wings on Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Blackstone, Virginia. She was born on May 9, 1944 to the late Ira and Irene Edmonds in Amelia County.
 At an early age, she was baptized and gave her life to Christ at Mount Level Baptist Church in Amelia, VA. During her younger years she attended and received her education in the Nottoway County School system. She retired from Brander Mill Woods after 20 years of service and at the time of her passing she was employed with Caremed Home Care as a faithful and dedicated Caregiver.
 She married her husband Clinton Hawkes, Sr on June 28, 1964 and to this union they had three beautiful children and 50 wonderful years of marriage.
 She leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted husband Clinton Hawkes, Sr., a daughter Sharon Hawkes, two sons Clinton Hawkes, Jr. and Keith Hawkes all of Blackstone, VA; two grandchildren Quaman Hawkes and DeAudra Hawkes of Blackstone, VA; one brother Robert Edmonds (Lillie Mae) of Blackstone, VA; two sisters Margie Mitchell and Patsy Woodley (Thomas) both of Blackstone, VA; two uncles Marvin Edmonds (Helen) of Killeen, TX  and Wilson Edmonds of Petersburg, VA; one aunt Virginia Wilson of Petersburg, VA; three brothers-in-law Ernest Hawkes (Edith), Macktoy Hawkes (Juanita) of Blackstone, VA and Richard Hawkes, Jr (Carrie) of Hopewell, VA; a sister-in-law Cathy Hawkes of Blackstone, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Hawkes may be viewed Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Level Baptist Church, 901 Wills Rd., Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
