Obituary for Angelina Robinson Whitted
Angelina Celia (Robinson) Whitted, daughter of the late Granderson and Nannie Wade Robinson, was born on October 24, 1934. On Friday, September 13, 2013, softly and gently, she slipped away after a lengthy illness.
Better known as “Midge”, she rarely complained, was always smiling and never hesitated to be there for family and friends. Midge was a hard worker and worked for many years, starting as a domestic worker. She then moved to new York and worked for Mallory Battery Company in Tarry Town, NY for a number of years before moving on to Gateway.
Midge was preceded in death by her husband, Cozy Whitted.
To cherish her memory, she leaves: two daughters, Deborah Bowman of Williamsburg, VA and Ann Chase (Calvin) of Petersburg, VA; two grandchildren, Richard Patrick and Shaquille Bowman; two great grandchildren, D’Andre and Juawn Lipscomb.; sisters, Gracie Butler, Hattie Robinson, Ernestine Crews, Marion Royal, Delores Patrick, Ruth Washington, Kathleen Jones (Robert), Jacqueline Perry, Joyce Clay and Nannie M. Owens (Percell); two brothers, William Robinson (Regina) and Louis V. Robinson (Carolyn); one uncle, William H. Robinson; one adopted son, Craig of Ossing, NY; one niece Jackie of California; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, all whom she loved dearly.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Promise Land Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
